Pregasaurus

Man oh man, am I getting big! And I'm getting kind of tired of getting big! I'm ready for it all to level off now, so I can be comfortable!
I'm at the stage where I honestly feel like I'm stretched to the max and I'm as big as I can possibly get. My stomach's tight, there's no more space for this baby to grow into. I'm done... if only it were up to me!

So last time around I took my second set of belly shots at 29 weeks, 5 days (but I've so nicely rounded up to 30 weeks) and I'm 31 weeks and 2 days right now so I figured if I'm going to attempt to be consistent I should take some more pictures. So last night at my parents house I got Lindsay to take some more belly shots in front of the same armoire (for maximum consistency!).
Here are the pregnancy #1 and pregnancy #2 comparison shots:

Why is it I look more tanned the first time around? When it was late January?!? That's not fair! Anyway, yes I'm bigger this time around... I have been measuring right on track (so 31 cm) and with Adelyn I was always 2 or 3 cm's behind where I should've been. As far as carrying differently goes, I can't tell! But I've been told that I'm carrying higher this time around, and that I'm also carrying lower. And that my belly's bigger this time, and that it's also smaller. And that I've gained more all over this time, and that I've also just gained belly this time. If I can't even tell I'm not sure how everyone else is so sure! But I take their observations with a smile anyway. lol.

Here are the rest of the 31 weeks Pregasaurus Belly shots! Enjoy :)

More Dance!

Wow, I'm getting bad at updating! Honestly, I feel like there hasn't been much to report of late. I keep forgetting that pregnancy info counts so I guess I could start there.

Well, as any faithful blog reader would know, I did yoga 4-5 times a week right up until I delivered Adelyn, which I thank for my pain-free pregnancy and fairly easy going labour and delivery. Well, I haven't been able to go more than two times a week for the last long while simply because getting to classes at set times is difficult when my primary focus (and scheduling) is watching Ady. But I still have been feeling great and doing well when it comes to yoga so I thought I was maybe lucking out!
However, last Thursday I went to class and figured I'd participate fully (as per normal) and do headstands just like everyone else. So I did a couple and it felt great! Later that night though I started to feel a little sore. The next day I felt a little worse. Then my back has been progressively getting worse ever since! I feel like I have about 4000 lbs on concrete above my head and my spine is being compressed so much that any slight movement hurts like hell! Not fun!
I'm really hoping this pain is related to the headstands and will pass, and is not just the way my body is reacting to being seven months pregnant!
I've taken the last week off (of yoga that is) and will wait to see what my doctor says next week before I go back. I really, really don't want to give up the yoga (as it's really my only form of scheduled exercise and the benefits are priceless) so I'm hoping she just tells me to ix-nay the headstands!

Hmm... what else? Oh, I've opening admitted I'm addicted to hair bows and have built up my collection from zero to 30 since Adelyn's birthday and as a result needed to find a bow holder to display all her lovely bows. So I started making these cool (and kinda arty) ribbon-covered bow holders and am getting great responses from people! So (provided all my supplies some in on time!) I'll be selling them through my friend Kendra's online Bowtique (Sarah's Bowtique) starting in September! It's a very exciting little venture for me! But, I know for sure this isn't going to help curb my addiction in anyway!

As for the "More Dance" title, I took Adelyn to Dinotown yesterday (along with Lindsay and "Jordo") as I was wanting to do something fun and special with her seeing as it was my last day off with her (I start back at work full time on Monday.) She was kind of slow to warm up to the place as we went there around nap time, but quickly got into it once the good music started! We went to the stage show and while she was kind of unsure about the dinosaurs she was completely overtaken by the music and couldn't stop dancing! There were some people in the crowd that were just watching her because she was dancing her little heart out!
At one point Lindsay put Jordyn down to sit on a bench (and not on her lap) and so Adelyn decided to sit down next to her. Well she was sitting for only a couple seconds when her upper body started to move and then she was back up dancing- couldn't sit down and stop dancing for a minute! It was so much fun to watch!
After the show she said to me "More Dance?" and so we took her and Jordyn back to the empty stage, where music was still playing, so she could dance even more!
We skipped right over naps, had a bit of lunch and then decided to change into bathing suits and enjoy Brontosaurus Beach! So we had some fun in the water and played around in the shade and soaked up as much sunshine and fun as we could.
We finally decided it was time to go and got all packed up and loaded into the car. Well we weren't out of the parking lot thirty seconds and both kids were completely passed out! When we got home Adelyn slept for another two hours! She was just exhausted!

We followed nap with some play time in the kiddie pool in our backyard and then more crazy balancing acts with Dad after he got home from work. It was a great day! I'm really going to miss having those days off with her! Thankfully, it's only for eight weeks!
Ok, I think that's it for now. Here are some Dinotown pics to enjoy!

Holidays!

We just returned from our annual holidays at Oyster River (Black Creek) on Vancouver Island and had another wonderful week, despite the weather. Well, to be honest, I had to try really hard not to be miserable some days because of the rain, but everyone else was in great spirits! I think I had a literal case of "cabin fever."
ANYWAY, we stayed in a two bedroom cabin at Pacific Playgrounds which backed on to the beautiful Oyster River. It really was a nice spot, but we'd rather have backed on to the giant grassy play area. Luckily enough, the Van Winkles had a cabin that backed onto the field so we just hung out at their place! Adelyn has a great time, going for walks everyday with her baby stroller or her "Mawn Nower" (lawn mower), seeing all the puppies, looking at the water and talking up a storm.
Oh, I can't forget to mention she also quite enjoyed playing with Andrew and Jorja and keeping Andrew in line a little too much at times!).
The one really nice morning we had we spent on Saratoga Beach where Adelyn just couldn't get enough of walking around on the sand and splashing in the water. It was a really great time! My only wish was that it was sunnier more often so we really could've gotten our fill at the beach!

We've been keeping pretty busy otherwise. Adelyn's language skills are growing and growing, and even though we shouldn't be, we're amazed daily by the new words and phrases she's stringing together.
She definitely takes after me in the "unable to sit still" department, which makes it challenging to keep her entertained at times, especially when all she wants to do is go outside and either play or walk, and that's not always possible. Luckily, we're still able to distract her with a few tricks :)
Pregnancy-wise things are going well... my left groin seems to enjoy causing me pain more often than I'd prefer, and my acid reflux is more frequent and occasionally accompanied by it's dear friend heartburn, which is lovely :) But still, it's been another fabulous pregnancy so far and I really don't have anything (well, much) to complain about. Lucky me!

So here are some pictures from our trip... a couple with the "Mawn Nower" and a ton from the beach, as well as a couple from today (which was spent playing in the new kiddie pool at Grandma and Grandpa and Bailey's with cousin Jordyn.)

Enjoy!
